1. Passive Noise Cancellation (PNC)

PNC relies entirely on the physical build of the headset to block sound waves. Using well-fitted acoustic foam, sealed ear-cups, and optimized clamping force, a passive headset forms a physical block between the ear and outside sound. Think of it as shutting the window on ambient noise.

ANC is an electronic sound suppression technology. Small microphones built into the headset capture ambient background sound. The internal processing chip then generates an inverse sound wave (anti-phase) and plays it through the speakers, canceling the original sound waves before they hit your ear.

  • Ideal for: Noisy open plan environments, hybrid professionals on the move, executives.
  • Pros: Outstanding block for low-frequency drones, enhances call focus.
  • Cons: Requires battery power, adds weight to headset, premium price range.
